Celebrate Brooklyn welcomed innovative dance troupe Ballet Hispanico last Thursday. The dance company fuses modern, ballet and Latin forms and was founded in 1970 by Tina Ramirez. Showcasing Aruska, the first piece by the company’s artistic director Eduard Vilaro, the company celebrated the music of Celia Cruz. Other works included the flamenco-inspired Nube Blanco and Club Havana. The company has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center, Jacob’s Pillow, The Joyce Theater and numerous venues across the globe. By Simone McKenzie
